This is the Deep Diver specialty course at Social Diving. 😃
Deep diving is often considered one of the most exciting aspects of scuba diving! The Deep Diver specialty course prepares you for dives between 20-40 meters. It covers the following topics:
- Introduction to deep diving
- Dive planning
- Decompression theory
- Safety guidelines
- Dive computers
- Breathing gases & narcosis
Each course module will teach you more about deep diving and help you become a better diver. Let’s look at each module and what it covers.
Decompression & Narcosis
Every diver knows these two buzzwords.
The deeper we dive the more important they become. As a deep diver, you need to understand more than just the basics from your Open Water Diver course to safely plan your dives.
Many cool animals and sea creatures can only be encountered at depth and if you want to dive with them…you have to know your limits.
Planning Your Dives
If you know you will dive deeper than 20 meters, you need to plan ahead.
Using dive tables, computers and the right equipment is an essential part of the planning step.
This helps you enjoy your dives more, conserve air and make smart decisions underwater.
Deep Diver Training
It’s time to dive! There are course options for 2 or 4 dives to complete your deep diver training.
Depending on the location your dive instructor will choose the appropriate maximum depth.
If you already have your Advanced Open Water Diver certification, the deep dives count towards the specialty.
If you passed all the course modules and the theory test, you will receive your Deep Diver specialty certification!
