For more information on the Equipment Specialist course, read the description below.
This is the Equipment Specialist specialty course at Social Diving. 😃
Are you a techie? Do you like talking equipment and the newest dive tech? Then this course is for you! Take our online course to become a real dive Equipment Specialist in no time.
We can’t promise your dive buddy will be amused about your “nerd” talk…but to us, it’s pretty sexy. 😀
The course covers the following topics:
- Dive equipment basics
- Regulator types and tech
- BCD types and tech
- Wetsuits and drysuits
- Dive computers
- Underwater cameras and beyond
Each course module helps you become a dive equipment specialist. Let’s look at each module and what it covers.
Regulator & BCD tech
The first module consists of the working mechanism and types of regulators.
We show you how they look on the inside and what happens during professional servicing. We also spend some time on the difference between warm and cold-water tech and show you examples of each.
ADV and Wing Jackets are the most common types of BCDs. We explain how they work, the pros and cons of each, and what to do to maintain them.
Please be aware that this course does NOT certify you to service your own equipment.
Wetsuits, Drysuits & Neoprene
We show you the different types of suits, how to care for and maintain your neoprene gear, and how to fix small scratches and holes.
Moreover, we give you some more tips, tricks, and info on how the different types of suits work.
Dive computers, Cameras & Everything Else
The final part of the course contains super useful info on dive computers, changing the battery them on your own, using underwater cameras, and much more.
After finishing the course, you will be able to brag to your dive buddy about knowing your scuba gear in and out!
Once you passed all the course modules and the theory test, you will receive your Equipment Specialist certification!
Congratulations!
Your dive instructor evaluates your skills during and after the course. Once you passed all the course modules, diving practice, and theory tests, you will become a certified Equipment Specialist!
Congratulations!
