Underwater Environmental Care course description
For more information on the Underwater Environmental Care course, read the description below.
Do you enjoy exotic reefs and corrals? Are you an underwater photographer fond of big ocean fish?
Or do you care more about freshwater quarries and lakes, their peculiar ecosystem, and microorganisms?
Whatever it may be, if we don’t preserve our environment it will be gone soon. We think scuba divers are especially responsible for keeping our marine world intact.
You can do a small part to save our oceans and it is fun, too.
Our Underwater Environmental Care specialty shows you how easy steps can make a big difference. Moreover, you learn about marine biology and your favorite fish in the sea.
Sounds like fun? It sure does.
The course covers the following topics:
- Underwater environmental care
- Introduction to marine biology
- Ecosystem ocean
- Scuba diving in an environmentally friendly way
- How you can get involved!
- Easy steps to preserve our reefs
Each course module helps you become an underwater environmental care specialist.
Let’s look at each module and what it covers.
Intro to Marine Biology
The first module consists of an introduction to marine biology.
We cover the ecosystem ocean and sea and how everything underwater is connected.
Using a few well-known examples like sharks (baby shark doh doh doh doh!), corrals, and turtles, we show the changes these species undergo due to us humans.
Have you dived Iceland at Silfra? Plate tectonics are interesting and the formation of new bodies of water is another topic you can discover.
Our extensive info material will make you understand marine biology better.
It will also help you with fish identification on your photos!
Sustainable Scuba Diving
Take pictures, leave only bubbles, keep the memories.
That’s a motto for every scuba diver to dive by. But there are many other small things you can do to preserve the environment.
You’ll find some of them in these 10 rules every scuba diver should follow.
The best part…they won’t cost you a cent.
Get Involved
The final part of the course contains tips and suggestions on how you can get involved.
Beach clean-ups, reef conservation, internships, and much more.
After finishing the course, you will know exactly where and how you can help care for your underwater environment.
Join one of our own preservation campaigns and make a difference!
Your dive instructor evaluates your skills during and after the course. Once you passed all the course modules, diving practice, and theory tests, you will become a certified Underwater Environmental Care!
Congratulations!
Save our oceans and learn about the environment
