Underwater Navigator course description
For more information on the Underwater Navigator course, read the description below.
Navigating underwater is important for every scuba diver. Getting lost is annoying and embarrassing at the same time.
The Underwater Navigator specialty course covers the following topics:
- Underwater navigation basics
- Using a compass
- Using natural surroundings for navigation
- How to never get lost on dives
Each course module will help you improve your underwater navigation skills to become a better diver.
Let’s look at each module and what it covers.
Navigation Under Water
We discuss the terms course, direction, and dive planning.
Navigation underwater is easy to understand but a little tricky to do right.
We will show you tips and tricks on how to find your way on every scuba dive.
Work on Your Skills
A large part of this specialty course consists of practicing your navigation skills while diving.
Practice makes perfect. An instructor will watch you and give you tips on how you can improve even further.
At Social Diving, we put a lot of emphasis on proper trim and buoyancy. This means besides using a compass, we also work on keeping neutral buoyancy at all times.
We are big advocates of frog-kick diving and, therefore, make sure all our students learn to use it correctly.
Underwater Navigator Practice
It’s time to dive!
There are course options for 2 or 4 dives to complete your specialty course.
If you already have your Advanced Open Water Diver certification and took the navigation dives, they count towards your certification.
Once you passed all the course modules you will receive your Underwater Navigator specialty certification!
Congratulations!
Your dive instructor evaluates your skills during and after the course. Once you passed all the course modules, diving practice, and theory tests, you will become a certified Underwater Navigator!
Congratulations!
Find your way underwater.
