This is the Advanced First Aid specialty course at Social Diving. 😃
The Advanced First Aid specialty course will teach you first aid skills applicable to diving and non-diving emergencies. Study the medical basics, practice the techniques, and feel more confident.
This will make you a better diver because you know how to act in case of an accident. Even better, by studying how emergencies happen you can avoid them in the first place!
The course covers (depending on your chosen option) the following topics:
- Theory of diving medicine including:
- Barotrauma, drowning, heart attack & stroke symptoms
- Decompression & breathing gas intoxication
- Practical training including:
- First Aid techniques
- Rescue Chain
Each course module will teach you more about diving and help you become a better diver. Let’s look at each module and what it covers.
Theory of Diving Medicine
Learn more about diving medicine, physiology, and anatomy.
Understand barotraumas and decompression accidents. Get even more content in our optional online course that will give you real-life examples and more.
First Aid Techniques
Basic first aid is a crucial skill everyone should possess.
We review basic techniques you have learned in other courses and apply them to diving accidents in particular.
For those who are interested, we offer an extended Rescue Diver edition that goes into even more details on first aid measures & techniques, and also covers the Medical Assistant and Oxygen Provider course.
Rescue Diver Preparation
Your instructor evaluates your theoretical knowledge and first aid skills during and after the course.
If you passed all the course modules you will receive your Advanced First Aid specialty certification!
