The Open Water Diver course is split into three sections. Theory, skills, and 5-course dives (not 4 like at most other places) in open water.
Each section will teach you more about diving and help you become a skilled scuba diver.
Dive Theory
During the Open Water Diver course, you will learn to scuba dive. To go diving safely you need to understand the theory behind scuba diving. The theory classes cover everything you need to be ready for your in-water course sections.
- The dive certification
- Diving physics & medicine
- Scuba Gear
- Planning your dives
- Introduction to decompression
- Legal questions & dive insurance
With our online course, you can learn at your own pace, whenever and wherever you want!
Practical Skills
In the skills section of the course, you put on your scuba gear for the first time! If you have not done a Discover Scuba Diving course before, you will take your first breath underwater now!
The scuba skills always take place in a pool or confined water like a very shallow part of a lake or the sea. Your dive instructor will know the appropriate location. We will cover four parts:
- Handling your own equipment
- Working together with your buddy underwater
- Handling emergencies
- Improving your skills and buoyancy
Open Water Dives
Itβs time to go diving! The Open Water Diver course includes 5 dives indoors and in open water.
Here you will apply the theory and the skills from the previous sections in practice. In these dives, you explore the underwater world down to a maximum of 20 meters. Your buddy and your dive instructor will be at your side at all times.
Your dive instructor evaluates your skills during and after the course. Once you passed all the course modules, diving practice, and theory tests, you will become a certified Open Water Diver – EN!
Congratulations!
Becoming an Open Water Diver is a great adventure and a lot of fun. You will never forget the first time breathing underwater!
